F1 News: Mattia Binotto unphased by Mercedes resurgence

Mattia Binotto is not concerned by the recent pace shown by Mercedes since the summer break.

Ferrari’s pace advantage over the Silver Arrows has slowly diminished this season, with the German squad getting closer and closer to an elusive race victory.

This could be a cause for concern for the Italian squad, whose development has seemingly stagnated. With that said, team principal, Mattia Binotto has made clear there is no need for panic.

Formula1.com quoted Binotto’s thoughts and opinions:

“Mercedes is coming back, they’ve looked more competitive than we did.

“Because I know when we stopped developing it [this year’s car].

“Certainly, if I look at the last three races, it’s not always been great… I don’t think it’s the same trend… I’m hoping it’s just a [outlying] weekend for us.”

The accuracy of Binotto’s comments will be determined next season, went the pressure will intensify for Ferraro to fight at the front for the Championship.
