F1 News: Sebastian Vettel Talks Rumours Of Him Moving To Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel has all but confirmed that he won’t be returning to Red Bull after it was rumoured that the German will not be moving back to Red Bull.

Vettel won the F1 championship four times under Red Bull between 2010 and 2013, and once he moved to Ferrari in 2015, he added even more race wins to his name, although he wasn’t able to add to his championship wins.

Vettel, now driving for Aston Martin, has been incredibly unlucky towards the start of the 2022 season suffering from COVID-19. Now he has at least scored some points under Aston Martin after a brilliant race at Imola where he finished P8.

Rumours quickly circulated of Red Bull chief Christian Horner reaching out to Vettel to offer a place at the team in the future, but he has quickly put this to bed.

“I haven’t spoken to Christian in ages. It’s not true,” he said accord to RacingNews365.

This means, with Vettel’s contract with Aston Martin coming to an end this year, there’s a chance he could be retiring. This, he says, depends on how Aston Martin fairs this year.

“I am still active, my contract runs until the end of the year. A decision has not been made yet,” he said to Bild.

“It depends on how strong the car is, how the team develops and how the races go. But I don’t need to lie: My future is a topic that is coming up and one that I am dealing with.

“The truth is: I have a lot of ideas, I talk to a lot of people and I’m easily inspired.

“But I’m not putting any pressure on myself to create the perfect follow-up career tomorrow. I don’t want to raise any expectations of finding the perfect thing.

“I have found something in Formula 1 that I am very good at. Something where I can compete with the best in the world. What comes after that, only time will tell.

“I am currently fulfilling my task. Two years ago I said ‘I’m going for another two years’. But I don’t think about life after that every day now.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
