Jeremy Clarkson Expresses Anger At Strange Choice Made During Miami Grand Prix

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, isn’t known to stay quiet if he doesn’t like something. So it was no surprise to see him speak up when he didn’t like the fact that James Corden was being interviewed at the Miami Grand Prix.

Corden broke into the American market when he started presenting the Late Late Show, but before this, gained a following thanks to his work on Gavin and Stacey. Over the weekend, he was seen with the McLaren team as the comedian was filming for the Late Late Show.

“Why on earth are we listening to James Corden?” Jeremy Clarkson asked his Twitter following of 7.7 million people.

“I have no idea who thinks people like Corden are important but then again they are the same people that speak to you Jeremy,” one fan answered.

Another added: “Because f1 has been Americanised. More emphasis on entertainment than racing.”

“I turned on @skysportsf1 saw James Corden… turned immediately back off,” a third said.

I must admit, Corden came across well in his interview before the race. He was passionate, interested, and excited to be there, which is more that can be said for a lot of the celebrities there. But the value it gave to us viewers? Questionable to say the least.

Corden said:

“It’s nuts! It’s been an intense experience.

“I have been here filming with the McLaren team for the last three days really.

“We have had a great experience from top to bottom and it will be on the show in a few months.

On being asked which team and driver he supports, he was keen to answer:

“You realise this isn’t a sport about individuals, it’s about true teams and as soon as you become invested in a team, if it matters to them, it matters to you.

“For me, my love, I will always be a Jenson Button guy.”

The Miami Grand Prix was definitely an interesting weekend. Many fans described it as a “fever dream”, beginning with fake water, mermaids in pools, and celebrities everywhere. The racing started and, well, for the first 39 laps not a lot happened. There was overtaking happening in the mid-field, but even that felt a bit dull to me.

But, the last almost 20 laps became really exciting after a safety car clustered the drivers together and finally we had some tight racing. Unfortunately, a load of it wasn’t seen because we were getting more shots of clouds and interviews with Christian Horner than what was going on on-track.

It came to an end with Max Verstappen taking the win after a solid drive in the Red Bull, and Charles Leclerc and Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz joined second and third respectively. Hamilton, who you’ll likely be interested in arrived sixth, with teammate George Russell having another lucky but well-driven run finishing one place ahead of him.

The race ended and we were treated to more craziness including a police escort for Max Verstappen, and the drivers coming out wearing helmets. It was seriously crazy, and fans weren’t too sure if they liked it or not.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
