Lewis Hamilton Pays Emotional Tribute To Ken Block – “Always Lived Life To The Fullest”

It was with great sadness that the news of Ken Block’s passing was confirmed earlier today. The American rally driver and founder of Hoonigan lost his life in a tragic snowmobile accident near his ranch in Utah. Hoonigan released a statement expressing their deep regrets at the news and asking for privacy for Block’s family as they grieve.

Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, who considered Block a dear friend, took to social media to pay his respects. In a heartfelt post, Hamilton wrote:

“I’ve been mostly off social media to focus on my health and well-being. Today I received news of the loss of a dear friend. I am devastated to hear of Ken Block’s passing. He was such an amazing person, always lived life to the fullest.

“I remember our first time working together and how positive he was. So much talent behind the wheel. Years ago, we had an amazing time heli-skiing and snowboarding in Canada. We held so much respect for one another.

“He will truly be missed and my thoughts and prayers go to his beautiful family. Gone too soon. Rest in peace, Ken.”

Hamilton also shared a photo of him and Block from their snowboarding trip in Canada on his Instagram stories.

The FIA, the governing body for motorsport, also offered its condolences on the loss of Block. President Mohammed Ben Sulayem wrote on social media:

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend Ken Block. An inspiration for us all and a true gentleman of our sport. The FIA’s thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time. RIP Ken Block.”

It is clear that Block’s passing has deeply affected those in the motorsport community and beyond. His talent and spirit will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
