Mercedes Pays Tribute To Lewis Hamilton As He Celebrates 9 Years With The Formula 1 Team

It’s been nine years since Lewis Hamilton officially joined Mercedes as an F1 driver, ending a six-year association with McLaren, the racing team Lewis dreamt of being involved with since childhood.

After Michael Schumacher announced his departure from Formula 1 for a second time after a disappointing few years with the team which began its career as Brawn GP, Lewis took the legendary driver’s spot in the team.

Over the following 9 years, Hamilton managed to match Michael’s 7 world championships record, and only last year was he denied the eighth as Verstappen controversially took the win at Abu Dhabi. Hamilton has however surpassed Michael’s total win record with 103 wins to his name, firmly planting him as one of the greatest drivers of the hybrid car era of F1. On top of this, he also has 103 pole starts and 182 podium finishes.

The question we’re asking now is whether Hamilton will return after the most recent Formula 1 controversy. He’s yet to post anything to his social accounts since his Abu Dhabi loss, and has remained tight-lipped about the result of the race.

Mercedes has however posted a tribute to its history with the racing driver:
