Does Jeremy Clarkson Still Own The MFB Bentley Continental From Clarkson’s Farm And The Grand Tour?

If you’ve watched Clarkson’s Farm, you will have seen presenter Jeremy Clarkson clambering into his off-roading Bentley Continental to get to Diddly Squat Farm Shop in the shortest amount of time possible. The car, nicknamed the MFB by Clarkson, featured on The Grand Tour’s Madagascar Special and was then seen in photos at the farm on his Instagram. But does he still own it now?

The Grand Tour Madagascar Bentley Continental ‘MFB’ Isn’t Being Destroyed As Expected

The MFB is highly regarded as one of the greatest creations from Top Gear and Grand Tour history, with fans going mad for the vehicle when they initially saw it during the latest Grand Tour special, A Massive Hunt. Jeremy did indeed take it home with him, and it was kept on the farm for a long time.

But, unfortunately, everything good must come to an end, and eventually, the car was given back to Bentley.

Clarkson said the following about the car:

“I fell so deeply in love with that car that I decided I’d bring it back to the farm,

“It took a while but, eventually, the Bentley arrived back in Britain, and I was very happy. But then came word from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. The Bentley had started in life as a development mule and the rules say these must be destroyed to ensure they don’t ever seep onto the market”.

Chadlington Reacts To Popularity After Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Show Booms

We thought for a while that it had been destroyed as Clarkson said, but it was actually transported back to Bentley’s HQ in Crewe. Mike Sayer, head of product communications for Bentley Motors, had this to say on his Twitter account:

“I’ve done some silly things with Bentleys over the years, but this tops them all. This is the GT we arranged and helped prepare for The Grand Tour special in Madagascar. Have a look on Prime – the abuse this car soaks up is incredible. It survived, and is now back in Crewe…”

Alongside this, Sayer also confirmed that the car is now on display:

“It’s within the factory boundary, but if you have a look from the gate at the east end of Pyms Lane you should be able to see it in a glass box,” he wrote on Twitter, while also confirming it won’t be scrapped.

So while it’s not sat at home with Jeremy on his farm, it is being well looked after by the people who created it. It might even be able to be seen in its glass display once the pandemic clears off…

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
